Carn Llidi, St. Davids Head, Pembrokeshire. The challenge was to convey the soft, moody sky and diffused light in a compelling way without strong shadows or tonal contrasts. One of my best plein air days in my happy place, St. Davids. Watercolour.

College Lake Nature Reserve, September 2025. I’ve had a long relationship with College Lake and its neighbouring nature reserve, Pitstone Fen. The voluntary work was there for me over 10 years ago when I was at a transition, and it continues to inspire me when I want to sketch and paint. This view of the two lakes and the octagon hide is a view that almost every visitor sees at College Lake. Watercolour and gouache.

Mid-morning at Porthclais, St David’s, looking toward the Green Scar. Soft pastel, 12x9 in. This view was the best birthday present when my husband and I stayed at Porthclais Farm Campsite in late August. We have kayaked around the Green Scar and walked miles along this stretch of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Soft pastel.
